strawberry halves, blueberries, pineapple chunks (fresh or canned in their own juice), apple chunks and orange segments Orange juice (optional, if you use apples but not orange segments) With a melon baller, scoop out the flesh of the melon quarters into small balls, leaving enough so that the “boats” have sides.

If you are using apples, core and cut them into bite-size wedges, rubbing them with a cut orange segment or dipping them into a cup of orange juice as you go to keep them from turning brown.

In a bowl, mix the melon balls and apple wedges, if you are using them, with the other fruit and toss lightly.

Spoon a heaping portion of salad into each melon boat.
