Cream the butter, sugar and brown sugar together until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs and blend thoroughly.

Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt and add this mixture to the creamed mixture.

Blend well.

Add the oats and chocolate bits and stir them in.

Shape small amounts of dough into 1/2" balls and place them on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake cookies in a preheated 375 degree oven for or until browned.
