Place the maple syrup and water in a large saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat.

Add the cranberries and bring to a second boil.

Reduce the heat and simmer the ingredients for or until cranberries begin to burst.

Remove from the heat and let cool.

Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled.
