Mulled Cider
Ronnie's Notes
People think of mulled cider as a winter drink, but it’s delicious anytime and is especially suitable for parties as a good alternative to alcoholic beverages.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Instructions
Combine the cider and sugar in a saucepan.
Cook over moderate heat 3–, stirring frequently, or until the sugar has dissolved.
Combine the remaining ingredients in a small muslin pouch or a piece of cheesecloth tied with kitchen string or a bag tie.
Immerse the bag into the liquid and simmer the ingredients .
Remove the bag.
(Alternatively, you may add the seasonings to the liquid and strain them out when you’re ready to pour the brew into the chafing dish.) Pour the cider into a chafing dish or other heated serving vessel.
Garnish the beverage by immersing the clove-studded orange into the cider.
