Marshmallowed Hot Chocolate
Ronnie's Notes
Oh, this is so good when you come in from the cold!
Tips: Kitchen Clue This has a much better texture if you transfer the liquid to a blender and whirl it a few seconds until it becomes frothy. Or, froth the liquid in the saucepan, using a hand blender. Leave out the marshmallows if you don’t like your hot chocolate so sweet.
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
Heat the milk and marshmallows in a saucepan over moderate heat for 5– or until the milk is hot, bubbles appear around the edges of the pan, and the marshmallows have almost melted.
Mix the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt in a small bowl.
Add the hot water and stir the mixture to form a smooth paste.
Add about 1/4 cup of the hot milk to the cocoa mixture, stir the mixture, and pour the mixture back into the pan.
Heat the mixture until it almost comes to a boil (you will see bubbles forming more rapidly).
Remove the pan from the heat.
Add the vanilla extract and stir.
