Mix the gelatin and boiling water together until the gelatin dissolves.

Stir in the pineapple and mix thoroughly.

Refrigerate for or until the mixture is thickened to a syrupy consistency.

Add the sour cream and beat it in with a whisk or electric beater until the mixture is foamy and the sour cream is evenly dispersed.

Stir in the nuts and cherries.

Pour the mixture into a 6-cup mold.

Refrigerate for several hours or until the mold is set.

Unmold and serve.
