Ronnie's Notes
How can you jazz up a plain old hamburger? Make it with ground lamb! These burgers are juicy and flavorful with fresh herbs and spices. Tangy sun-dried tomato mayonnaise replaces the traditional ketchup. If you prefer you can cook these burgers on an outdoor grill or oven broiler rather than in a pan on the stovetop.
Instructions
Combine the ground lamb, bread crumbs, onion, garlic, egg, parsley, mint, cumin, paprika, and cinnamon and mix to blend ingredients thoroughly.
Shape the mixture into 4 burgers about 1 inch thick.
Preheat a grill pan or sauté pan over high heat.
Sear the burgers for per side then lower the heat to medium.
Cook for another 2– per side or until cooked through.
While the burgers are cooking, mix together the mayonnaise, sun-dried tomatoes, and lemon juice.
Place the cooked burgers on the bottom slice of bread and top each with a dollop of the mayonnaise.
Cover with the remaining bread.
Makes 4 sandwiches.
