Instructions
Cream the butter, white sugar and brown sugar together until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract and blend them in thoroughly.
Sift the flour and salt together and add them to the creamed mixture.
Blend thoroughly.
Chill dough for .
Roll dough into two rectangles, 15"x9".
Cut each into three 15"x3" strips.
Spread the filling evenly down the center of each of the six strips.
Fold the sides of the dough over the filling, pressing them together to seal the edges.
Cut the strips into 2" bars.
Place the bars, sealed side down on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for or until lightly browned.
To make the filling, place the ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a boil, lower the heat and cook for or until ingredients are soft.
Stir frequently while the mixture cooks.
