Dipped Strawberries
Ronnie's Notes
This one is everybody’s favorite!
Tips: Second Thoughts While dipped fruit is stunning and delicious as is, you can fancy it up even more. Put some plain or toasted ground nuts on a plate. After you dip the berries in the chocolate, roll the chocolate part in the ground nuts, and then set the berries aside to cool and harden.
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
Rinse the berries quickly under cold water but do not remove the green hulls.
Dry the berries thoroughly with paper towels.
Put the chocolate and shortening in the top part of a double boiler set over barely simmering water.
Stir for 3– or until the chocolate has melted.
Remove the top part of the double boiler from the heat.
Dip the tips of the strawberries in the hot chocolate mixture to coat about half a berry.
Place the berries on waxed paper or foil to cool.
The chocolate will harden as it cools.
