Whip 1/2 cup of the cream with 1/2 TB.

(1-1/2 tsp.) of the sugar until it stands in stiff peaks.

Set aside in the refrigerator.

Place the chocolate, 1 TB.

sugar and the water in the top part of a double boiler set over barely simmering water.

When the chocolate has melted, whisk the ingredients to blend them thoroughly.

Add the coffee and 1/4 cup of the cream, heat through and remove the pan from the heat.

Pour the coffee mixture into 4 cups.

Top with the whipped cream.

Garnish with shaved chocolate.
