When was the last time you had an old-fashioned hot fudge sundae? The sauce on this one is smooth and not cloyingly sweet—you can use it for all sorts of desserts.

Place the butter, honey, and cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until the butter has melted and bubbles form around the edges of the pan.

Stir in the chocolate and remove the pan from the heat.

Whisk the ingredients until the chocolate has melted and the sauce is smooth.

Slice the bananas in half lengthwise and place in each of four dessert plates (if using large bananas cut each in half crosswise first and proceed).

Top with the ice cream.

Pour the fudge sauce on top.

Scatter with the cookie crumbs.
