Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Peel and slice the apples into a 10”x6”x2” baking dish.

Pour the juice over them.

Mix the maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and pour this mixture over the apples.

Place the bits evenly over the apples.

Make the crust: Place the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.

Add the milk and mix the ingredients to form a soft dough.

Roll the dough on a floured surface to a 1/2-inch thickness.

Place the crust on top of the apples.

Pierce the dough with the tines of a fork in 5-6 places.

Reduce the heat to 350 degrees and bake another .
